Sprayway Selen Jacket
7th Jun 2019
You know when your coat is comfy and lightweight when you realise you are still wearing it hours after getting home (I have a cold house).
The Sprayway Selen is a lightweight, simple but effective synthetic winter jacket. Sprayway's TecSHELL technology with a Durable Water Repellent coating means that you stay warm in showery weather, and it dries out quickly. It's lack of bulk compared to a down jacket is deceiving, but the InsoFILL synthetic fill is warm for all but the most severe conditions (and no little birdies were hurt in the making of it). The elastane hood, cuffs, hand pockets and adjustable hem mean no drafts and the hood fits well. Unfortunately the inside pocket zip broke on me but that is minor.
I am really impressed by the price of the Selen. It is warm, light, has some technical features, dries quickly and looks good enough for wearing off the mountain. Stitch through baffle construction ensures no cold spots after a lot of wearing and the fabric has shown no sign of wear after a full season of every day use. It's a good buy. It retails at £110.
