Rock Shoes: Twins Skin Stone

Currently distributed only out of the Leeds climbing wall, and originating from Italy Twins are set to make a mark with a price tag which is more than competitive with the other brands (they even under-cut the Quechua Vuarde Tech’s!). They are obviously a budget shoe, with no defining name for their rubber, and a few niggles in the manufacturing quality (such as an aggregation of stitching in one shoe which is more than likely specific to individual shoes so try before you buy). The fit is otherwise comfortable. We particularly liked the large rubber toe box cover which aids foot jamming (note that they are not very rigid so don’t provide much support when torquing your foot into a crack!). The rubber is certainly good enough, but not as good as the leaders. Basically a good affordable shoe with features common to the other slippers in the review.
This review was carried out as part of a massive comparative review of 25 pairs of Performance Rock Shoes. We think that this could be the biggest review of such shoes ever undertaken. You can read the whole review here.
