There's a brand new film making waves in the cycling world and we're very pleased to announce that we've managed to arrange a sneak preview at Cycle To The Cinema at Longshaw on Aug 7th.
Bicycle is its name.
AS THE TOUR DE FRANCE LEAVES THE UK A NEW BRITISH FILM SHOWS US THE JOURNEY OF THE BICYCLE IN BRITAIN.
The feature length documentary screened to over 1000 people at its pedal powered Public World Premiere at the Festival of Cycling at Harewood House on the evening of the Grand Depart.
“BICYCLE”, the brainchild of BAFTA winning director Michael B Clifford and producer Pip Piper both keen cyclists asks the question why is cycling and the bicycle back in fashion?
It tells the story of cycling in the land that invented the modern bicycle, it’s birth, decline and re birth from Victorian origins to today. The film weaves bicycle design, sport and transport through the retelling of some iconic stories and features interviews with notable contributors including Sir Dave Brailsford, Gary Fisher, Chris Boardman, Ned Boulting, Sir Chris Hoy, Tracy Moseley and Mike Burrows.
“BICYCLE” is a humorous, lyrical and warm reflection on the bicycle and cycling and its place in the British national psyche.

The film will be on limited cinema release throughout the summer and autumn and will come out on DVD in September.
