A special Sheffield Adventure Film Festival / Tour De Cinema free Bike Session screening at the RedBull Cityscape Outdoor Amphitheatre featuring archive documentary Velorama about a Century of the Bicycle, Sheffield produced mountain bike films 7 Cogs Of Sheffeld and North as well as From The Ground Up about bespoke bike builders BTR Fabrications.

Velorama: A new film created from stunning British Film Institute archive film about a Century of the Bicycle. From the invention of the bicycle to the gruelling pursuit of Le Tour – a historical journey through a century of cycling are honoured in this specially-made new film comprised of fascinating archive materials and music. 7 Cogs of Sheffield: In his big screen debut Sheffield Hallam photography student Edward Birch takes a closer look at the mountain biking community within Sheffield, focusing on local riders including 19 year old GB rider Freddie Oxley who competes for fellow Sheffield legend Steve Pete and 15 year old up and coming rider Hannah Saville as well and a well-known local enduro team. North: An artistic mountain bike film from Sheffield director Tom Richards exploring the diverse range of riding around Sheffield and the surrounding Peak District featuring riders: Alex McNeil, Dave Camus, Oscar Monk, Jake Monk, Marco Wood-Bonelli. Read more on the ShAFF website.
From The Ground Up: Borne from the ambition to design and build bikes for individual riders, rather than a one-size-fits-all bike for the masses, the bespoke cycle industry centres around the passion and craftsmanship of people like Paul Burford and Tam Hamilton, who are Burf and Tam Racing Fabrications. The Tour de France is coming to Britain for 100 days this summer, starting in Yorkshire. To celebrate, the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival and Cycle to the Cinema are proud to host the first outdoor screening of the Tour de Cinema as a major strand of the Yorkshire Festival.
Special documentary and fiction films will be screening FREE to the public on large-scale high definition screens, popping up in beautiful open-air locations, National Trust venues, and community spaces across the county.
Tour de Cinema is presented in partnership with SHAFF, Cine Yorkshire, Yorkshire Film Archive, University of Sheffield,University of Leeds, National Media Museum, Bradford International Film Festival and the National Trust
